PhilatelicPeranakanArtsFashionStepsOut

Hey guys~
The next post, as well as the one after this...
.. They're gonna be overdue-ed post.
I've been procrastinating and stuff.
Well, lazy man syndrome, you grant that?

Ok~  So we will zoom back to about a week ago, Saturday~

Meet up with Mandy to go for a visit to the various museums around Dhoby Ghaut.
First we went to the Philatelic Museum.
It was my first time there...
...And to be honest, i have not a single idea how to get there, until i saw the website.
And reaching there, then did i realise that it's actually somewhere i always go past without realising.

So in there, it's rather of a small, cozy museum, which displays stamps and a little of Singapore's heritage.
To be honest, i wasn't too sure what the museum was about as well, before i read the web and went to place itself.

It was kinda nice, but to be honest, will get bored after awhile.
But i guess it's the nostalgic reminiscence that kept keen.
I mean, look at this.
I know it's old and all. But i'm sure i did see it at some point of my life before.

Well, here's more pictures of the museum.

Next, we headed to the Peranakan Museum, just next the Philatelic Museum.
I must admit, i love how they designed the place.

Both the exterior and interior designing of the place. Pretty much the same way as the Arts Museum.

It has this traditional feel to it, inside the museum.
But i must note that, there's somehow this smell that i'm not too comfortable with.
It's not those stench kind, but the smell of antique i guess.

And there is this part.
It is a corridor that leads you down to a set-up of a Traditional Peranakan funeral.
I don't think most people are quite comfortable with it.
You can hear cries along the corridor, perhaps activated by movement sensors.

Worth a visit, but some may find it a little creepy somehow.
Here's some pictures that i took.

Next, we went to Singapore Arts Museum.
Yes, the second time i'm there.
But you know, for visits to places like these, one visit is just not enough.

So here's some works that i took picture of.

This time, with my trusty camera.
But sadly, it died on me halfway, so i switched back to handphone camera.
But it was the last display before we left, so i guess  the 'impact' wasn't there.

After leaving the museum, Mandy and i part ways, while i left for the fashion show along Orchard Road later that evening.

Knowing that i still have time to burn before the show, so i loitered around the area.
Treated myself to a cone of Irish Bailey's flavored ice cream.
And i was a happy happy boy for the rest of the day.

And when the night falls, it started to pour, and i was rather disappointed at the thought that they might cancel the show.
You see, the runway for the show was the stretch of road, from ION Orchard to Ngee Ann City area.

If i'm not wrong, it was the first time which such an event had taken place, and i must say, it's a great decision.
I wanted to see the show, with the intention to listening to the music they play.
As well as to see the show itself.

But it was just too crowded.
I was blocked by various obstructions.
People, scaffolding, engines... You name it.
So these are what i managed to take.

And after that night, i must say, i am inspired.
I guess, other than wanting to play for beach clubs or lounge, i'd really love to play for a fashion show.
I'd really love the idea of seeing models cat-walking to the beats of the tune i play.
I am really inspired, as much as others wanting to play at major clubs and all.
